I do not think that you are supposed to share Xbox emulators, I think Xbins has some sort of a policy that states all Xbox emulators should only be downloaded from there. But then again, I could be completely incorrect.

We're not supposed to share PSX games either, so It'll all work out in the end. ;)

This is quite a good emulator, I was surprised that it worked as well as it did.

It's come in handy quite a few times for me already, also I submitted some info aswell. :)
Btw it's a wonderful emu, I've completed Final Fantasy VII and Castlevania - SOTN a couple of times with PCSXbox.

Even though it says v18 in the nfo when booted it says 1.5 at the title screen.

v18 is the emulator version.
1.4, 1.5, 1.6 is the 3 different PCSX cores Xport implemented in the emulator.
Some games work best with 1.4, some best with 1.5 and some with 1.6.
So instead of having 3 different PCSXbox emulators he made an option to select which you'd like to use.

Btw here's a link for PCSXbox v19.

Pcsxbox sucks! I tried it with 2 of my disk images. I tried Gundam Battle Assault 2 and Digimon Rumble Arena. But when I tried to load either of them it locked up, and I couldn't even reboot by holding down L+R+Start+Back. I had to turn off the whole Xbox to get out of it. And yes, I was using the right bios file (scph1001). And I know that both of those ISOs (and the bios) work on my computer based PSX emulator called ePSXe. So Pcsxbox sucks. I would like someone to post an alternative Playstation emulator for Xbox (if there even is one).

Just a warning to others wanting to emulate Playstation on the Xbox, don't bother with Pcsxbox. It simply doesn't work.

I must have imagined it running:

Discworld
Mortal Kombat 2
Rival Schools Arcade
Rival Schools Evolution
Street Fighter Alpha 3

Obviously it's not going to emulate every game, or be as good as a PC PSX emulator. There's a compatibility list already posted in this thread:

Digimon Rumble Arena Didn’t Load with HLE, No Video with BIOS just Sound
Gundam Battle Assault 2 Doesn't work in Bios, works fine in HLE. Turn on InuyashaSengokuBattle CPU Fix. 95% -kokenjr

The link I've posted in the 1st post is supplied with Mortal Kombat 2 and it works.

It works great with every game I have tested.
Castlevania - SOTN, Final Fantasy VII, Blood Omen etc.. all works 100%.
You really can't expect every game to run with the default settings, you have to change some settings for some games to work properly.
Ofcourse there are games which don't work, but not even pSX or ePSXe runs all games, no PSX emulator does that. Atleast not yet.

I tried both HLE and BIOS with both games. Each time Pcsxbox LOCKED UP! In fact, the disk image for Gundam Battle Assault 2 was an ISO file (not BIN an CUE), so it only was one file, so it shouldn't have been hard to get it to work. And I ripped it myself from my own disk, and it worked great on ePSXe on my computer. The simple fact is that Pcsxbox sucks ass! For the Xbox, I'm sticking with Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and Gameboy Advance emulators (the emulators that I've seen actually work on my Xbox) until somebody makes a much more user friendly PSX emulator for the Xbox.

I think that's the problem.
Convert it to bin/cue.
I tried Alien Trilogy in Alcohol 120% (mds/mdf) format and it too locked up the box.
I then converted it to bin/cue and everything works.
Bin/cue, (CloneCD) ccd/img/sub are formats known to work, whilst iso, mds/mdf are known to cause problems.

If every game that play requires it's own specific settings then It isn't worth it. Besides if it is an ISO file then it DOESN'T NEED a CUE file with it. That extra file is ONLY needed if it is a BIN file. So it should be VERY EASY to use if it is an ISO file. If anybody else has used a disk image with the file extentions ISO please tell me if it has worked for you. By the way, are MagicISO or PowerISO good programs for making a Playstation disk image? Or does only Alcohol work?

If it still doesn't work after I try some of your suggestions, then here is my thought on it:
If it is THIS complicated to get it working, then it isn't worth taking the time to get it working. I already have fun games for my SNES emulator on the Xbox, and I already have a PSX emulator on my computer, so I don't think it is even worth it to bother with this crap to get Pcsxbox working. And I would recommend this for others tool. If you can't get it working by just putting the BIOS in the BIOS directory and the disk image in the disk image directory (as this is all I need with ePSXe on my computer) then it isn't worth it to try to get it to run on the Xbox. If you want to play Japanese version games, or backed up games, (on a console rather than a PC based emulator) then get a real Playstation and use the Breaker Pro swap disk.

Well that's your opinion, but it's really not complicated. :p
Thousands of other PCSXbox users, myself included, is very happy with it.
Besides no PSX scene release game was ever released in iso format.
Bin/cue or CloneCD format is the only way to go with PSX games.
If a game has CDDA tracks you won't be able to hear them if it's an iso image.

Sure you can.
Isobuster is great too (and free). :)

MagicISO is free too, if you can find someones name and registration code for it. I got mine from a torrent. It had the program, as well as the person's name and registration code for it. Not perfectly legal, but neither is emulating PSX games you don't have. So I don't bother trying to find freeware. I just go to mininova.org and get some torrents.

I finally got PcsXbox 1.5 to work with Digimon Rumble Arena. I got 3 versions (1.4, 1.5, and 1.6) and I found that the latest version that worked with the game was 1.5. And even then I had to try several different settings (Bios or HLE, Frameskip on or off, Framelimit on or off), but I finally got it to work with at least one game thank goodness.

Edit: Now I have a question, I've got memory card image files (epsxe000.mcr and epsxe001.mcr) on my computer for ePSXe, and I've got lots of game progress stored on them. Is it possible to put these in a folder on my Xbox and then use them wit PcsXbox? I'd hate to have to play the games all over again on my Xbox.

I just put Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale on Pcsxbox, but I have a problem. I tried it and everything (graphics, sound, etc) was good on the intro and menus, but when I got to a battle I couldn't fight. So I went back to the CPU fix for the Inuyasha game. Now I can actually fight in a battle, but the sound is completely broken up. If they were supposed to say "Inuyasha a feudal fairy tale" (they don't actually say it in English, this is just an example) it would sound more like "Inu ya sha a feu dal fa ry ta al". If you have any idea how to make BOTH the sound AND the gameplay work, I would like your advice. Does anybody know how to fix it?

And I tried the compatibility list at http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=238506
and all I get is a blank page. The link seems to be broken.

By the way, here are my system settings.
Bios/HLE: set to Bios
Version of Pcsxbox: 1.5
GPU plugin version: 1.16
SPU plugin version: 1.9

Here are my graphics fixes settings.
Everything is off except "framelimit". It is "on"
Bit depth: 16

Here are my sound fixes settings.
Everything is off here except "XA Sound". It is "on"
"Interpolation" is set to "gaussian"
"Reverb" is set to "best"
"Sound timer method" is set to "threaded"

Here are my CPU fixes settings.
Everything is off except "Inuyasha Sengoku Battle fix". It is "on"

As for what tools to make an Xiso, you can use Quix or C-XBox Tool, there are probably others, but these are the 2 that I'm aware of.

This is the best one first, second just because you tried 2 games that didn't work doesn't mean it sucks, check the compatibility list for PCSXbox and check if those games work what specific settings you have use for each.

PS: I have been using PCSXbox for 2 years and all the games I own work 95-100% perfect with the right settings and if they're compatible of course.

Thank you all for the info in response to my most recent post. However you still haven't helped me with my more important problem (from my post just before my most recent one). I hate to double post but the game that's having a problem working is one of my favorite. So here is the problem again.

If they were supposed to say "Inuyasha a feudal fairy tale" (they don't actually say it in English, this is just an example) it would sound more like "Inu ya sha a feu dal fa ry ta al", although the music plays fine for some reason. And even worse, when you do get through a battle (something you couldn't do without the Inuyasha fix on) the game locks up at the end of the battle) If you have any idea how to make the sound AND the gameplay work AND how to avoid the lockup at the end of the battle, I would like your advice. Does anybody know how to fix it?

And I tried the compatibility list at http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=238506

I also tried a CloneCD format disk image of this game, with the same results. So I still need help with the problem.

Edit: I still haven't gotten an answer to my problem. It is a very important problem to get fixed, because Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairytale is one of my favorite PSX games. Please help me fix my problem. The post just above this one explains the problem. Anybody who knows how to fix it, PLEASE HELP.

This way your post will also look new (appear in new posts).

Sorry. But could someone now answer the question of how to fix it I've listed the problem more times than I should. Will someone please just answer with a fix to the problem. It is my favorite game that I'm trying to get working on Pcsxbox. Someone MUST have a solution on how to get Inuyasha a Feudal Fairytale working. And it must be more than just the CPU fix with the name of the game, because that fix makes battles work, but then it locks up at the end of the battle. And it also makes the sound-fx break up, so that the only good audio is the music soundtracks (and even one of those doesn't play good).

That's an yes and no.
Original (or backup) PSX game discs is not compatible with PCSXbox due to the fact that the DVD drive in the XBOX has problems reading mode2/XA discs which PSX discs is.
XPort tried to implement it in his emulator but it was just too slow to be feasable.
But ripping them to image files and then burning them on a DVD should work fine.

Thanks for the emu links Xcalibur. Has anyone here been able to get dbz legends and mutant academy 2 work properly?

I've used v20 and v18, and used 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 cores still the same result.

dbz legends J cue/bin is sound bug in game menus (screeching sound) but actual play is fine.

Xmen Mutant Academy 2 pal ccd/img/sub is the opposite fmv and game menus are fine, in game play music loud screeching and slow down. According xboxscene these two games are working fine.

I tried different spu plugins the same result, by turning off xa sound or sound processing the game plays fine but no music or sound spoils the game.

Has anyone had anyluck with these games or confirm they had it working with a different region TIA

Resident Evil Collection
Genre: Action Adventure
Console: XBOX
Region: NTSC-U
Image Format: ISO
Uncompressed Size: 3GB
8 Parts: 7X200MB, 1X 96,8MB

I didn't know where to post this, since it might be a emulation of the playstation releases of Resident Evil using PCSXbox, but it comes with a menu and loads like a regular game.

The games available in the disc are:

Resident Evil 1
Resident Evil 2 (Claire's disc)
Resident Evil 2 (Leon's Disc)
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil: Survivor

Resident Evil 2 comes from the dual shock edition, but it has Spanish menus. The rest of the games are in English all the way.

Important: Don't forget to asign some slots in the virtual memory card before choosing a game, otherwise you will not be able to press start in the main menu of the chosen game.
You can also activate some graphic enhancements/adjustments if you want.

Nice up. So these are running on PCSXBOX.... Did the creator do all the proper settings adjustments and everything so the games run as properly as possible?

In Resident Evil 2 I have a question about load the save, I decided to test the RE 2 in this emulator, when I finished the disc 1 with Leon I get a save to release scenario B with Claire on disc 2, only when I try use this game to save Claire, he can not find the file and when I load the disc Leon says that the save is from Claire. But in the emulator psx p / xbox every game has a folder and save independent settings, so I can not of the load on that disk. Despite having a new option called load disc image it does not work, only w / games that need to change disk during the game. What I want is to load a game save w / other as it did in the original psx. Anyone who has played knows ... I do not know if I was clear in my doubts. I tried to get the save in a folder and play the other, but not worked too. "One could make that my question?

Yeah, I'm think about this, but my Resident Evil 2 game is [NTSC-U] [SLUS-00421/SLUS-00592] The Japanese version (Biohazard 2) and European version ( include the patched for BR translation) have the same problem.ah, and the Dualk Shock version too.
