This is the emulator only, no roms are included.
I'm working on uploading the roms later, but there's over 4gb so it'll take a while.

Install

* Ok after you unrar this you will have a folder called coinOPS inside that folder you
will see a folder called -SAVE inside that folder is two folders called UDATE and TDATE..
Ftp over the contents of them two folders to the UDATE and TDATE on the E drive on your
xbox. For CoinOPS to work correctly this is required for it to boot.

* Ftp all of CoinOPS to a location on your xbox hd or run it off a DVD.. if you run it off
DVD you will need to remove some roms as its to big to fit on a DVD5. I recommend for speed
and all functions to work, for CoinOPS to be run from off the Hard drive.

* If CoinOPS does nothing but sit there on a black screen the contents of UDATE and TDATE Was
Not Ftp to your hard drive correctly.

TIPS of the day

- Holding down the Y(yellow) Button while pressing up/down to select a rom does a superjump
(A will jump to B C D or 1989 will Jump to 1990 1991 1992) and will speed up rom searching

- Pressing Back will change the sort Method eg Times Played, Type of Game etc

- Pressing White and Back while playing a game will allow you to change your keys or to Cheat :)

This is a work in progress, I'm adding the romset letter by letter to make it both easier for myself to upload,
and for others to dload and have something to play whilst waiting for the rest.

Some letters will have more than 1 part, e.g. B1, B2 etc .
This is to keep the size under the 200mb RS limit.
You don't need to get all the parts to extract.

Huh? I haven't uploaded the M section yet. It wont be a full set when finished, only around 1000+ roms are included.

After checking, the MK games don't appear to be supplied with this dload, Are you using your own roms?

CPS3 roms are not supported in CoinOPS.
Use the CPX3 emulator for those.

ok first of all,these releases of coinops with the roms are always meant to be able to just fit on a dvd,this is how the author bp works.
concerning the 2500 roms,he wont release that.it will never happen.
another reason he releases about 1000 roms is because it is the most popular ones that get in the package.its a kind of best of mame if you want to call it that.
if you want to add roms,the best thing to do is download baed3a(mame),that has about 5000 roms and you can add whichever roms are missing and put them in as baed is based on mamox0.843b.which is basically what coinops is based off apart from newer updated drivers for cps1,cps2 and neogeo.
so to cap all of this off,the full version is going to be 1000roms and it hasnt been decided yet when it is going to be uploaded.
just go and download the coinops gold romset or the earlier version which is in this very forum as they are both EXATLY the same romsets and when the new romset gets posted it will just have exactly the same roms.

Just a quick bump to let people know that if they do want the romset for this then it has been uploaded to several places.
the romset for this stands at 1000 games whih is actually slightly les than waht was available with gold.
but i do stress that if you already have the gold or earlier romset then if i were you dont bother apart from some minor new games added which you could get a hold of yourself,then i wouldnt bother but each to their own.
if anyone wants to grab it and upload it to here they are more than welcome to.:)

I struggled trying to find the keymappings to get back to the main screen or to save state. I found the following text from another user's posting on xbox-scene.com:

as we all know mame on xbox is stuck at the 0.84 core and it has been for a couple of years now.
so this is a call out to anyone out there who might be interested in updating mame for xbox past the 0.84 core as their are loads of other games that we could play if the core was updated for example the sega fd encrypted games like turbo outrun,dd crew,dj boy......if anyone has good coding experience and is wanting to have a shot at it here is the sourcecode for coinops ignite.

Throttle disabling is useful for games running at 57fps, 59fps, 58fps(cave), 61fps (namco).
Enter the ingame menu, "remap gamepad", and map one or several keys as THROTTLE.
(You can map your THROTTLE as back+X+B )


Example: If you think Dodonpachi (58 fps) isn't that smooth,
call the THROTTLE function by pressing the keys remapped. THROTTLE will be disabled
(because enabled by default)
This will force the game to run at 60 fps (60/58 fps): a small speedup but a smoother animation.

Throttle can also be used for 55 fps games (Midnight Resistance...) but the sound can glitch a bit (speedup).
Some older 61 fps Namco games are smooth with THROTTLE disabled and Frameskip 0 (Rolling thunder 1,2...)

If you want to know what the original framerate is for the games, press BACK+BLACK (default setting)

----------------------- CPU OVERCLOCK -----------------------

This can be very useful for some games with slowdowns.
To call the function press BACK+RIGHT THUMB, (the sound volume setting appears)
Go up or down a few times and check the CPU0, CPU1... overclock settings.

Examples (for 480p)
-BioMechanical toys has small slowdowns, Set the CPU0 to 125% = smooth animation.
-Double Dragon (original beat'em up) runs slowly: set the CPU0 and CPU1 to 150% = nice speed.

Don't overclock the games that can't reach their original framerate (ex: 52/60 fps, 36/57 fps), the emu will be slower.
Overclock only the games running at full framerate ! Biomechanical toys runs at 60/60 fps and
Double Dragon runs at 57/57 fps, so the values for CPU can have a higher setting.

We can also decrease the values:
-To get a better anim in Darius Gaiden (or some other Taito), keep CPU0 at 100%, and set the CPU1 (sound CPU) to 50%.

----------------------- CONFIGS -----------------------

A member wanted a config for CPS2 games (some Capcom games use LPunch+MPunch+HPunch, same for Kicks)
If for example LPunch=LTrigger, MPunch=X, HPunch=Y and you want a shortcut for furies on WHITE BUTTON
then "remap the game" this way:
P1 Button 1 = J1_LTrigger or J1_White
P1 Button 2 = J1_X or J1_White
P1 Button 3 = J1_Y or J1_White

Pressing White will call the 3 Punch Buttons !

----------------------- FAST FORWARD -----------------------

Sometimes it's boring to wait for a long time when a game is launched: memory tests, rom/ram tests, etc...
I personally use a fast forward function: just change the frameskip ingame.
My default Frameskip is AUTO.
I have remapped Frameskip Dec as L_Trigger R_Trigger X (FS decrease: Auto - 11 - 10 - 9 ... 3 - 2 - 1 - 0 - Auto ...)
and Frameskip Inc as L_Trigger R_trigger Y (FS increase: Auto - 0 - 1 - 2 - 3 ... 9 - 10 - 11 - Auto ...)

When a game is just launched I Press LTrigger+RTrigger+X to run the game very fast (Frameskip 11).
To return to Frameskip Auto (normal speed) when the arcade tests are finished I Press LTrigger+RTrigger+Y.
This way I don't wait for the long rom/ram tests.

(Just press the keys one time, or you can get lost as the Frameskip value isn't shown anymore ingame).

----------------------- SERVICE MODES -----------------------

Some players like to have a Freeplay (no coin) or an easy setting for the games, but no DIP switches ?
All the games have a service mode NEOGEO, CPS1, CPS2, SEGA, MIDWAY, CAVE, NAMCO.
Remapping function in "Remap This Game" will help.

NEOGEO: Just remap the TEST SWITCH with the keys you want, and press thoses keys ingame: entering service mode.

CPS1 & CPS2: Just remap the SERVICE MODE for the same results.

SEGA 32: (outrunner, Golden Axe2, Arabian Fight, Spiderman...)
Remap the SERVICE MODE and the SERVICE 1: SERVICE MODE will enter the settings and valid a choice
SERVICE 1 will allow to switch between the different options.

MIDWAY: Remap the TEST (or use the option: ingame menu/game settings/Test Switch ON/OFF).

NAMCO: Remap the SERVICE MODE (or use the option similar to Midway's).

CAVE: (Esprade, DoDonpachi) Remap the SERVICE MODE and press the keys during 2 or 3 seconds.

Be careful ! Sometimes with some manufacturers you must reset the game (LTrigger+RTrigger+BACK) after you pressed
the service keys to be able to enter the arcade settings ! ! !

PS: it's unfortunate but set the biggest schumps to EASY to get less bullets on screen and limit the slowdowns

----------------------- GUN GAMES -----------------------

Playing a lightgun game like Lethal Enforcers 2 with the pad can be hard because we must reload by shooting outside
the screen. For this kind of games, enter the cheat menu and available the unlimited ammo setting.

Same for Underfire. The crosshair isn't shown ingame but it's playable with unlimited ammo
as we can see where we've just shot.

Disable the Crosshair (BACK+LEFT+THUMB) will help in Beast Busters.

----------------------- MULTI SCREENS GAMES (Darius 1, Darius 2, The Ninjawarriors, Warrior Blade) -----------------------

Disable the Widescreen setting for horizontal Games, and the games will play at fullscreen. 16/9 users will get
the best results.
Purists can also set a special "screensize adjustment" to get a suitable aspect ratio.

no new games have been adde to coinops well you could include raiden fighters2(2000),streetfighter1 and fixeight(bootleg).
there is also no new screenshots,there is the screenshot pack from ignite r2 uploaded in this thread just use that one.
no need to release new screenshot packs for every release and anyway you can create your own screenshots with a certain button combination just take a look in the settings on how to do it.

if you go into your settings and then scroll to the bottom and you will see an option called secret settings or advanced settings.anyway activate it and hit the back right trigger twice this will take you to the screen where you can edit the rompaths of your roms to wherever they are.

Showcase is available on torrents,with all the videos.but its the r2 release so you would have to update the emulator from showcas with the r3 version to get all the new games.

no jut delete your coinops r2 emu folder and gamesave apart from roms,screenshots and videos.
then just make a clean install of r3 .

i would suggest you download those roms from a mame 0.134 romset as some roms from some sites can be out of date.
i uploaded most of those roms already which you listed.

do not Download a full mame 0.134 romset because mame on xbox is still at mame 0.84.
it was just those new games that were added and the games i listed in the recent versions of coinops which are mame 0.134.just download the games from the link i gave you in my last post.
if you need more games like the neogeo games for coinops then just download the romset in the first post of this thread,there is over 1200 games and they are all compatible with coinops reignite.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING A FULL MAME 0.134 ROMSET.
MOST OF THEM ARE NOT COMPATIBLE.

so what you are saying is power instinct 2 has some graphical bugs correct??
if so,then trying different versions of the same rom will not change or make the game any better,it must simply be a driver problem not a rom problem.

Well, if the Final Burn Legends Emulator, can emulate Power Instinct 2, I think we ended all doubts. I had already downloaded the emulator shortly after I'm tried the version that emulates a few games from Sega, as I have the full set of FBA is only needed to add this rom ( and others, maybe...).

While I'm prefers the Coin Ops as my Arcade emulator, later versions of FBA have been surprised me by the ability to emulate a few games that Coin Ops does not.

Certainly, and I believe that for practical (and organization) is more convenient to centralize the emulation of these games only in the emulator. I've been reading the text document: release notes, and was satisfied with the possibilities of emulation of the Sega games (apart from Konami, basement and other Publishers) just felt that, a compatibility list, but I think this is the time .

I still have some doubts about this emulator, but it is better to go directly to the official thread. Will be testing the emulator this afternoon, but I'm hoping to test other games. I hope the creators do not give up to continue supporting and creating new versions.

you can have coinops and final burn legends on your xbox,also if you have a lot fo roms for coinops then you can go to the final burn legends folder and look for the path.ini file.
there you will see there are multiple rompaths just edit one of the rompaths to look in the coinops reignite romfolder.
then start up the legends emulator and go to the option rebiuld romlist and you will have more games that way like the konami,toaplan,sega.........you get the idea.

Moreover, Thanks Jackhammer, if these links were not posted. sure, I and many hours we would be stuck in a Torrent.

In my opinion, could even have one ( or more) mirrors of this romset, but since they had the updates of the latest versions of Coin Ops. In recent days, the emulation topic was be well organized, if someone put new links, was only expected for new updates (Although not so sure about this).

By the way, Xcalibur, I did the test with another emulator and the roms of the games: Power Instinct are running perfectly, I also noted the latest suggestion that I posted and I will be carrying out further tests with a list of games that was not able to emulate the Coin Ops. Thanks again.

I'm glad to see that iq132 and britneyspairs have stayed the Coin Ops after all (Does the FBL has something to do with it? :devil1:- relax it was just a joke). Interesting that of Hack Final Fight, something that is worth having and trying, seems to be quite fun for the videos :D

the only dat file is the one that comes with it,so if you already have one of the earlier coinops romsets and you also downloaded the roms i posted for reginite r2 and you have the roms from r3.
all you need is the roms that are listed in my post.this is really the best advice i can give you.

i cant see the midway games being playable,because they did try and add a patch to the emulator to get a speed up but unfortunately it had mixed results.

you can turn on the sound in the advanced options but if you do that the gameplay suffers badly.
your only other choice is playing mortal kombat trilogy the ps1 version on the ps1 emulator for xbox pcsxbox.

seeing as coinops reignite plays .xmv preview videos here is a wmv to xmv converter.

a lot of preview vidoes on the net for games are in .wmv format so this will convert them to .xmv.

you can also use this tool for final burn legends,as it plays .xmv format as well.

i think you posted over at 1emu about this problem anyway i just tried it just now and you are right the game does just hang at a black screen but i found a fix.
if you have other roms of final fight on your xbox hdd like say in fbaxxx pro or final burn legends then just use one of these roms.

you can use the dats from coinops reignite r3 with r4 as the games are exactly the same.
with r4 you do not need to overwrite any files just delete your old r3 emulator including the gamesave which is called babe.....something or other and just make sure you do not delete your roms,screenshots or videos if you have them.
then of you wish you can take the final fight hack patch and overwrite by basically copying the final fight patch files over reignite r4 and job done.
its worth it as the final fight hack is awsome.

BP/ DOA released Coinops Reignite R4? R5? (or whatever he's calling it) that has SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive emulation. But I don't know where it can be downloaded.

Frankly I do not agree with mixing consoles emulation with arcade emulation.. I think each emulator (especially Arcade) had to do more to increase the compatibility list of games to be putting mega drive ,snes, etc..

It's just my personal opinion, but who prefers to have consoles together ...

Yeah I agree with your about mixing arcades with consoles but what can you do... It is sort of neat to have an all in one emulator frontend and you don't need to add the console roms. They're also not compatible with RessurectionX's Xtras too :(.

I also gave up following the official forum posts. When the creators who does not cuss questions, give vague answers about what games will be released. At least the people who created the FBA is more polite and always willing to give it a more conclusive answer.

No compatibility with RessurectionX's Xtras? God, this is a terrible mistake, but honestly friend, I prefer the emulators dedicated to each platform. I hope one day I can play Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean in PCSXBox and perhaps (we can not cost) an emulator of Saturn.
